Board of Regents

The Board of Regents of University of the Pacific is entrusted with final responsibility for the quality and integrity of the education provided by the university. It selects the president, approves the purposes of the university, and ensures provision of adequate resources to support the university. The Board of Regents protects the university from external pressures antithetical to academic freedom and to university autonomy or integrity.

President

University of the Pacific welcomed Christopher Callahan as its 26th president on July 1, 2020. Callahan joined Pacific from Arizona State University, where he was the founding dean of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and led it to become one of the nation’s top programs.

President’s Cabinet

The president's cabinet is composed of the senior university administrators who serve as the university's officers and who report directly to the president. They work closely together with the president, trustees, and academic leadership to provide advice, develop and implement university-wide initiatives, and oversee operation of the university.

Deans

Pacific's deans help shape the university's vision and provide strategic input into the connections between that vision and the allocation of university resources. Deans advocate for academic and educational quality and provide guidance regarding universitywide decisions affecting enrollment, academic and co-curricular programs and accreditation.

Pacific Leaders Serving the Community

University of the Pacific leaders provide service to boards, advisory groups and non-profit organizations throughout Northern California creating important community partnerships.
